EP040: A New Beginning! (House)

Hola, y bienvenidos a la nueva versión de mi podcast! Después de mucho batallar con mi antiguo proveedor, ahora contamos con un nuevo server sin limite de ancho de banda! Esto quiere decir que podrás disfrutar de mucha más música recopilada, editada y mezclada por tu servidor Jose Spinnin Cortes. Tambien es posible que hayan notado un cambio paulatino en mi sonido. Yo siempre he creido en que es necesario experimentar y probar nuevas cosas para poder crecer y evolucionar. Esto es lo que ha pasado. Desde luego que no me olvido de donde vengo y aun toco principalmente Tribal y el sonido clasico del circuito gay, pero en algunos venues y eventos selectos podran escucharme pinchar sonidos mas obscuros y apegados al house puro, incluso tal vez underground. This weekend was definitely a historic one, as finally marriage equality was granted all over the USA, just in time for pride celebrations all over the world. Congratulations to all, and keep fighting!. I wanted this episode to be special. Since I have been playing at gay clubs for most of my career, I decided to share a playlist with tracks that, for one reason or another are very special to me. It is not an "all hits" one, I must say, it is more of a personal favorites list and Im sure you will find some favorites of yours in there. So, please enjoy and thanks for sharing this important moment in the fight for LGBT rights. Este fin de semana ha sido historico, pues finalmente se ha concedido igualdad en el matrimonio en todo Estados Unidos, y justo a tiempo para las celebraciones del Orgullo Gay en todo el mundo. Felicidades a todos, y continuemos en la lucha!. Quise que este episodio fuese especial. Como muchos sabe, he tocado casi toda mi carrera principalmente para la comunidad gay, así que decidi compartir una lista de canciones que, por una u otra razon tienen un significado muy especial para mi. No es un set de "hits" como tal, es mas que nada una lista de canciones favoritas personales, y estoy seguro que en ella encontraras algunos favoritos tuyos tambien. Estoy muy contento de poder presentarles el inicio de mi nueva noche tematica en uno de los mejores clubes de Mexico: Babel. La fiesta tendra actos en vivo, visuales e iluminacion unicas, performances, y desde luego la mejor seleccion de musica a cargo de mis amigos DJs junto conmigo en cabina. Los espero en Babel este 28 de Marzo, y en las futuras fiestas que estaremos haciendo ahi y en el resto del país.

Han sido 3 meses ya despues de la ultima entrega del podcast. Afortunadamente he tenido mucho trabajo y buena parte del tiempo la dedique a afinar detalles para el lanzamiento de mi mas reciente album de estudio, mismo que Ya esta disponible en CD en todas las tiendas Mix up de Mexico asi como en Beatport y en iTunes. Bueno, este episodio es especial pues decidi volver un poco a mis orígenes, que si bien en mis sesiones en vivo a veces pueden escuchar este sonido, en el podcast tenia tiempo que no lo proponía... estoy hablando del sonido que ha caracterizado mis ya casi 10 años de residencia en el club Monica's en Guadalajara. Its been close to 3 months since my last podcast episode. Fortunately I have been working a lot both in the studio and touring. I have been finishing up the details for the release of my new album This is the Revolution wich is already in stores both on CD and Digital formats!. Gracias a todos por todo el apoyo y cariño que he recibido este año. He estado trabajando muy duro en el estudio haciendo lo que será mi tercer álbum de estudio y gracias a Dios está muy próximo a estar listo!. Hoy, es una fecha especial, y no por todas esa basura del fin del mundo, sino por que en si representa el principio de una nueva era, cosa en la cual creo firmemente. Grandes cambios han acontecido en mi vida y en mi carrera en los últimos 2 años y aunque han habido pérdidas y desgracias, también he tenido días increíbles y momentos de darme cuenta de las cosas que en verdad valen la pena. Lo único que me resta es decir que estoy extremadamente agradecido por mi vida, por mi trabajo, y por todos los verdaderos amigos y seres queridos que nunca me dejaron incluso en los momentos mas difíciles. Gracias a todos, cuídense mucho y espero que tengan una Feliz Navidad y que el año nuevo este lleno de cosas buenas para todos! Y esperen más de Jose Spinnin para el 2013!
Thanks for all the love and amazing support I have had through this year from all of you. I have been working really hard in the studio making my third artist album, and thank God it is about to be done very soon!. So, today it's a very special date, and not because all of the end of the world crap, but because it actually represents the beginning of a new era, and I firmly believe in that. Great changes have come into my life and career in the past couple of years, and even though there has been loss and grief, there have also been amazing moments and times for realization. I only have left to say that I am extremely grateful for my life, for my job, for all the true friends and special loved ones that have never left me even in the hardest of times. Thank you all, stay safe, and have a wonderful holiday season. Expect more Jose Spinnin' in 2013!
